happy 1st anniversary to us!!!!

wow. what a difference a year makes, right?!
last year at this time we were VERY newly hitched, getting
our party on at the royal hawaiian with 250 of our
closest friends and family members.
wondering what the future held in store for us...
fast forward 365 days, and i can say it has been a
fabulous 1st year as mr and mrs laird.
we've made it through many a home improvement
project, sharing a home office, lots of traveling,
not to mention 9 months of pregnancy...
what CAN'T we get through, right?!
i am excited for our next big challenge/collaboration...

well, it's official kids! we're married!
we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day
for our big event. gorgeous blue skies, no wind- it was amazing!

and....we're off!

well folks, we are finally packing it up and leaving for hawaii. to get MARRIED. wow. a year ago when we first started planning this whole thing, this day seemed so far off- like it would never be here...and poof! here we are. yesterday i was diligently checking off my to do lists and things for us to remember- do you have the rings?! do you have your shoes? where are my earrings?!!! where's our flight info? i was having trouble sleeping last nite with all the excitement, anticipation and craziness of it all swirling around in my head...also the random thoughts of things we'd forgotten to pack...a belt for THAD!!!? i think in the grand scheme of it all, years from now when we look back on these days preceeding "the big event" we will remember all the fun times, the preparation, the festivities and friends...not all these teeny tiny details i like to consume myself with...so...my wedding resolution is: don't sweat the small stuff (gross saying...i know) but it's true. we're outta here, and i couldn't be MORE excited!!!! alooooooha!

amy threw a girl's nite out party for me on saturday nite....the girls all met up at amy's for delicious cocktails, dinner & dessert- as well as some sexy gifts and a fun round of the newlywed game! brad chaffeured us all in the caddie to a drag queen revue at the domino room....followed by a drunken walk to joker's- where we had a little dance party, lots of shots and finally were escorted out aka kicked out (thanks colleen!!!!) our last stop was wall street- at which point the bride-to-be threw in the towel and had to call it a nite....jason was nice enough to come take us home in the wee morning hours...whew! big nite. i have to say these bend ladies know how to have a good time...i'm glad i'm only getting married once!!!! i'm getting too old for all of this!

a few weeks ago i headed down to my old stomping grounds- "The OC" for my last dress fitting, official bridal business, and a bridal shower! Ldawg hosted the cutest shower on record with the help of Julia, Tiana & Tara (aka Dude). She left no detail to chance, and everything from the food to the flowers (nice job ju-ya!) to the favors and decorations were as cute as can be....by the way-can i tell you she did all this with 2 month old Campbell strapped to her chest?!!! wonder woman! it was so fun to see all the ladies, and i got tons of amazing & racy items....too x-rated to show here....thanks to Ldawg for making it such a special event and to all the OC ladies!!!! i miss you girls!!!!

every girl needs a burro

tonite we got an early wedding gift from our friends kyle, corey, ben, amy & brad- the schmid family made a special visit to our house to personally deliver what has to be the BEST and most unique wedding gift on record...along with a super fancy bottle of champagne, they brought us an overly generous gift certificate to our favorite garden store AND.......the ceramic BURRO planter i've been coveting and obsessively talking about for the last 10 months! i almost cried when kyle brought the burro into the house. WHAT?! how did we get such fabulous, thoughtful and awsome gift-giving friends. they filled the burro's baskets with fresh veggies from their yard and tied a big, festive bow around his neck. i am so excited, i might not want to put the burro outside? maybe on my desk? or on the kitchen table?! THANK YOU!!!!!
