halloweenie

it was a very mellow halloween here at the laird abode...
we decided to just stay home, pass out candy and
watch a scary movie. we had heard from the neighbors that
the kids come by the mini-van load...so we got TONS of
candy. we did get some trick or treaters- maybe 20? but
we still have this massive bowl of candy...and a whole plate
of cupcakes?! yikes...don't leave the pregnant lady unattended...

summer storm

this morning we had a major thunder storm...
rain, thunder & big bolts of lightning right over our house---
kinda scary. we battened down the hatches
and me, thad, mister and even frankie hid out in the office while we
waited for the storm to pass and our internet to be restored...
mister fell asleep on thad's desk! whew. big day so far...

happy birthday mister!!!!! officially 7 years old today!!!
we had a birthday bbq for the man last nite,
and a good time was had by all.
despite getting a little burnt by his birthday candle,
mister had a good time and even
frankie joined in on the party action!!!

we decided after all the socializing we did in hawaii the last few weeks,
we'd do our own, low-key thanksgiving at home this year.
we spent all day cooking, assembled our new table (chairs are on the way!!),
busted out the new china and dressed up for the feast.
even mister and frankie got their own mini plates and loved it!
