baby luau!

since we couldn't make it to hawaii for a proper baby luau,
we did the best we could and brought the luau to oregon!
there was matching aloha wear for thad and jackson, authentic
hawaiian food from kauai island grill, festive decor, mai tais,
lots of friends, and shirtless cake eating!
a party to remember!

and grandpa lar in town...there's been lots of
festivities, playing, eating, party prep and good times over here.
we also celebrated patti p's birthday with an awesome

thanksgiving

we had a festive thanksgiving feast
at linda j & big guy's house with the whole gang.
jackson definitely enjoyed his very 1st thanksgiving!
his favorite thanksgiving foods were the stuffing,
turkey, yams and rolls...YUM!
grammie lin and grandpa lar are visiting, making
it an extra special occasion....
we sure have a lot to be thankful for this year!!!

jackson got "the coupe" for his birthday from
auntie val and uncle jer (fonse's parents) and couldn't
be happier! he loves being on the open road, feeling
the wind in his hair,steering, shifting and riding along....

sunday we headed downtown for lunch
at the original (pigs in a blanket! yum!) and
an educational trip to OMSI. it's always fun to check out a local
attraction we haven't been to before and explore
our new 'hood...

it was a wet weekend here...it's a good thing jackson
can find fun in basic household items
and keep himself entertained!

that's how many points thad got on his
game winning word- QUIZZES...wow!!!!
maybe not a new world record?! but a new family record for sure!
impressive!

11 months!

wow...here we are just 1 month away from the
big 1 year old mark...crazy!!!! let the party planning begin!
jackson has been very busy this last month.
most notably, he's mastered the art of crawling-
rolling and army crawling are for 10 month olds...!!!
he's pulling up on everything and has even learned
how to let himself down- a helpful skill!

newest tricks and favorite things:

crawling around really fast
pulling up, falling down, bumping into furniture
chewing on crib rails
saying DADA all the time, MAMA (once in a blue moon)
new word for mister "DUGGADUGGA"
handing you a toy if you ask for it
opening and slamming the tupperware drawer...throwing the contents all over the kitchen
sleeping through the night...12 hours...yipee!
big morning naps (2-3 hours...yipee!)
any food he can feed himself- bananas, waffles, pancakes
least favorite food- tofu (overdosed maybe?)
yelling at the top of his lungs
anything that isn't a toy- shoes, purses, the remote, cell phones
being ultra smiley 98% of the time
watching jeopardy-the daily double noise gets him everytime!
