this weekend i went down to big sur for my friends chelsea and jason's wedding.
the wedding location was amazing-on a gorgeous cliff overlooking the coastline of big sur.
it was great to see old friends and to be a part of
such an intimate and special event. congrats chels & j!!!!

last weekend i flew to hawaii to deal with some official bridal business.
my mom (aka Lin) and i had a great time meeting with all the wedding
people, and crossing stuff off our very long lists. i made lin and lar
pose for this cute pic when we were at the royal hawaiian....only
6 weeks left!!!!

every girl needs a burro

tonite we got an early wedding gift from our friends kyle, corey, ben, amy & brad- the schmid family made a special visit to our house to personally deliver what has to be the BEST and most unique wedding gift on record...along with a super fancy bottle of champagne, they brought us an overly generous gift certificate to our favorite garden store AND.......the ceramic BURRO planter i've been coveting and obsessively talking about for the last 10 months! i almost cried when kyle brought the burro into the house. WHAT?! how did we get such fabulous, thoughtful and awsome gift-giving friends. they filled the burro's baskets with fresh veggies from their yard and tied a big, festive bow around his neck. i am so excited, i might not want to put the burro outside? maybe on my desk? or on the kitchen table?! THANK YOU!!!!!

well, not really....we technically WERE invited guests at our friend's colleen & anthony's wedding on sunday. what a fun event! the wedding was at beautiful aspen hall in shevlin park, and the bride was a total knock out! highlights of the evening included the open bar (who doesn't love that!!!?) a dance duet performance to "vogue" featuring thad and kyle- back spins and the worm were in full effect, a certain debacle involving brad, a very LARGE floral arrangement and the woods, chewy marshalling the entire "birch" table outside to take pictures in a pyramid formation, and general drunken debauchery & good times. congrats anthony & colleen!!!!!

the last dog days of summer

we decided to sneak in a few more hours in the sun this weekend before the lazy days of summer are over and our hectic fall travel & wedding schedule really starts. we loaded up
mister and headed to this awesome spot at elk lake. the view was gorgeous and mister loved his
first trip to the "beach"
